Dutchess Farm

Growing healthy & fresh vegetables in Castleton for 35 years.
  • Offers a pre-order retail option. The pickups are on Fridays from 4-6pm and anyone can pre-order at our website at dutchessfarmstand.com. This option is not a share.
  • Share pick-ups are Tuesdays or Fridays 4-6PM in Castleton. For more information or to buy a share please email us at dutchessfarm@gmail.com or visit dutchessfarmvt.com. The share season runs from mid May through late October.
  • There is also a Rutland Farmers' Market or Rutland Co-Op pick-up option on Saturday morning.
  • We will continue our dutchessfarmstand.com website pre-order option throughout the winter.
Thank you Dennis & Carol! You have added so much to the farmers' market & our community.  We will miss chatting with you at the market every week.

Evening Song Farm

Evening Song Farm, run by Kara and Ryan and 6 truly wonderful staff members, provides certified organic veggies through a free choice, year-round CSA with pickup spots in Rutland, Shrewsbury, and Ludlow, as well as through an online ordering platform with the same pickup locations. We are still accepting sign ups for the fall CSA share, that starts at the end of October, and we are happy to prorate the cost of jumping into the fall share after you are done receiving awesome Radical Roots veggies, just make a note in the comment section on the sign up form. Information for the 2021 winter, spring, summer, and fall CSA shares will be updated on the website by early October. Each week CSA members receive a newsletter with what we are harvesting that week, farm news, a seasonal recipe, and a form to fill out selecting the veggies you want that week if you plan to pick up your CSA share in Rutland or Ludlow. If you miss a week, we encourage you to make up those missed items whenever it's convenient for you.  We prioritize having a wide variety of veggies available year round, especially salad greens. And we try to make the CSA model as convenient and flexible as possible, email eveningsongcsa@gmail.com with any questions. We are still prioritizing no- and low- contact veggie delivery, so for the foreseeable future, we will not be attending the farmers' market. We are sad to see Carol and Dennis step back as farmers, and we are so grateful for their contributions to this food shed. We moved our farm business to the area around the same time that Radical Roots began, so we feel an affinity for their time as Radical Roots farmers, and we know they will just translate their skills and love for this community into other projects.
